From Grand Rapids, MI, and renowned sneaker boutique Premier, comes this collaborative effort with Nike SB to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the shop's opening. Themed after the cool Lake Michigan water and the Petoskey stone, which is a fossilized coral found only in that very specific region of the state. The rippled, grey tumbled leather resembles these stones somewhat, as well as patterning and branding on the insoles and also dustbags that come in the package; the cool blue is a tribute to Michigan's Great Lakes. A translucent outsole also sets this particular pair apart from a general release Dunk, appearing for only the second time in the history of the Nike SB brand and calling back memories of last year's Space Jam release.
This quickstrike, priced at $104 releases on Saturday, April 28th, at Premier; presumably there will be a wider release soon after. With any luck, I will have my hands on a pair. Stay tuned.
